Following its annual grant proposal review, the Lafayette Oxford Foundation for Tomorrow (LOFT) Board of Directors is pleased to announce its 2013 grant award recipients.
LOFT Board member Walt Davis states, “LOFT’s endowment fund is working exactly as planned and annually provides grant money that even further improves the wonderful quality of life we are blessed with here in Oxford and Lafayette County. With continued support and donations from the community to the permanent endowment, there’s no limit to the good that can be done.”
Lafayette Oxford Foundation for Tomorrow (LOFT) is a local community foundation whose mission is to increase quality of life within Oxford and Lafayette county communities. LOFT’s five areas of interest for awarding grants are civic, educational, health and human services, municipal, and arts and cultural.
Since its inception in 2002, LOFT has awarded over $192,000.00 to many deserving non-profit, charitable organizations across Oxford and Lafayette County, and its permanent endowment ensures that this annual reinvestment through grant awards will continue in perpetuity. “While we can’t foresee the future, the LOFT endowment ensures funds for our community to meet those needs as they, and our community, change. A gift to the LOFT endowment truly reaches and enriches all of us now, as well as generations into the future” said LOFT Executive Director Laura Parkinson.
LOFT was founded in 2002 as an affiliate of the CREATE Foundation. LOFT’s Board of Directors is comprised of local business and community leaders who work diligently to raise money for its endowment, and maintain local decision-making regarding how funds are raised and allocated through its grant application and selection process.
The LOFT Board of Directors congratulates its 2013 Recipients:
LOFT grant proposals will again be accepted May 1 through July 31, 2014. For more information, please email Executive Director Laura Parkinson at loftdirector@gmail.com.
